I was looking through some stuff on my laptop and I found this list. It is a list of song lyrics I found especially meaningful. I made most of the list when I was in Germany for a couple weeks for work. I was feeling a little down when I did it, as you might be able to tell from the lyrics. Eventhough some of the lyrics are sad, they are still beautiful to me. There are many more songs with many more lyrics that I find inspiritional, thoughtful, meaningful, maybe I will add more later. The last couple I added recently.
“I know I’ll miss her later, wish I could bend my love to hate her”
-Dave Matthews Band, Sleep to Dream Her
“When are you gonna learn things sometimes turn instead of turn out?”
-The Wailin’ Jennys , Begin
“I don’t care if forever never comes, ‘cause I’m holding out for that teenage feeling”
-Neko Case, That Teenage Feeling
“Why won’t you love me for who I am, where I am?”
-Paul Simon, Hearts and Bones
“All I want to be is here, right now, and everything to me is here, right now”
-The Gufs, All I Want to Be
“I’d like to think the best of me is still hiding up my sleeve”
-John Mayer, No Such Thing
“I fall so hard inside the idea of you”
-Dave Matthews Band, The Idea of You
“Four more exits to my apartment, but I am tempted to keep the car and drive, and leave it all behind. Because I wonder sometimes about the outcome of this still verdictless life. Am I living it right?”
-John Mayer, Why Georgia
“This is not about love, I am not in love, in fact, I can’t stop falling out”
-Fiona Apple, Not About Love
“My stupid mouth has got me in trouble. I said too much again”
-John Mayer, My Stupid Mouth
“Me with a head full of words and not one useful expression”
-The Wailin’ Jennys, Begin
“How I wish you could see the potential, the potential of you and me. It’s like a book elegantly bound, but in language you can’t read…..just yet. You gotta spend some time love, you gotta spend some time with me, and I know that you’ll find love, I will possess your heart”
-Death Cab for Cutie, I Will Possess Your Heart
Someday my pain, someday my pain, will rock you.
- Bon Iver, The Wolves (Act I and Act II)
